Goal Scoring

Knowing Your Objective is Critical to Meeting Your Objective

There are two ways of measuring career success:

  • objective success — externally measurements: salary, number of promotions, etc.
  • subjective success — internal factors: career satisfaction, happiness, etc.

If standard of living is your number one objective, quality of life almost never improves. But if quality of life is your number one objective, standard of living invariably improves.  – Zig Ziglar

aims purpose goalsWhen planning and mapping a success strategy, three of the many things to consider are:

  • Purpose – the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
  • Goal – the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.
  • Aim – we use aims as short-term goals to work on measuring and implementing precise, targeted change.

Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing. – Thomas A. Edison
