Goal Achievement in 8 Easy Steps

  • Set goals that are easily obtained, but still stretch you a bit. It’s like stretching back muscles after 15 years as a couch potato – you start easy go to your threshold, hold it until the muscles stretch and then go just a bit further. A month of this and you’re touching your toes again!
  • If you’re not passionate about your goal, forget it! No passion, no way!
  • Marry a cheerleader, or at least find a friend that will give you honest feedback and support.
  • Get your ducks in a row. Your short term ducks (goals) should be in alignment with your end-all goal. If you were in a shooting gallery a single shot would knock them all down.
  • Get advice from achievers, not theorists – unless you’re happy with just thinking about success instead of achieving it.
  • Multitasking is a myth – one step at a time, one thing at a time, one achievement at a time – and TA! DA! – you’re there.
  • What you do is IMPORTANT – no do, no done.
  • Get some Good Humor, Man – We all want to be more successful, but everything you read probably sounds like a lot of work. Isn’t there a scientifically proven method that’s a little more… fun?
